BP3_2010011_Web 2.0 T1 - Tracking Shots

Teachers are always searching for ways to make learning fun and at the same time learn about the students in their classroom. I always like to start the year off with a project called "All About Me" where the students are able to introduce themselves without the embarrassment of standing up in front of the the class. Using the Web 2.0 tool Tracking Shots students can use personal photos and music of their choice to tell the story about them. This Web 2.0 tools opens the doors to many creative, interesting and informative projects, while learning. It can be used in Social Studies to tell about a war, a revolution; Art class, English of course to retell the story without words. So many avenues can be taken with Tracking Shots.

Tracking Shots is a very simple that anyone can use as long as they have photos and music. It's as easy as clicking a photo from your computer, uploading and Tracking Shots does the rest. Now it will allow yo to go back and make changes if you are not satisfied with the final product. This is aspect of Tracking Shots can be a pro or a con, but it is a great experience that students and teachers can use this idea to introduce them to a type of photo story. This unlike a photo story does not require the student to speak so the shy students are not threatened and are able to reveal what they choose to share. I like the freedom of Tracking Shots for any all students because all levels get the experience. It will allow students to use the creative side of the brain to prove they are learning instead of the traditional learning as well as provide computer skills. The last thing that makes this a great tool is that students are able to email it directly to the teacher and the teacher can give immediate feedback to the students and less time is needed for set up preparation to view in class.

Tracking Shots is a Web 2.0 tool that has so much to offer in any class and at any time usi
ng photos and music to tell the story. Just another way to help keep all students engaged in learning!
