technology is adaptable for education

using flickr in the classroom...

Flickr Lesson Plan - Stacey Robinson
January, 2010
Topic - Holocaust " a bystander"
After a discussion about World War II in Social Studies and English students will have some understanding of how Hitler and others were able to accomplish what happened to the Jews during the Holocaust.

A bystander - A person who is present at an event without participating in it or changing it.

Students will then have to research and/or search "flickr" for pictures that represent the idea of a "bystander" based on the discussion of bystanders of the WWII. (no picture can be from that time period)

Students will use the class flickr group account to post pictures and comments - provided by the teacher.
Students will have three weeks to complete the assignment using classroom computer, library (in school or out) or individual technology

After posting the picture students will then have to give an explanation of how the picture represents a bystander.
Also students will then have to post five comments to other students from the other class periods. One post will be to a classmate in your own period totaling five post. All post should be written in paragraph form using correct language usage.
